Biting The Hand That Feeds
I'm wondering what kind of counterintuitive strategy PeopleSoft's executive PR is employing.
First, PeopleSoft CEO Craig Conway blasts the industry's "Microsoft Dependency" during the launch of its products for the Linux platform.
Now we have Mr. Conway referring to Microsoft's ".Net" platform as "IT asbestos."
I'd be willing to be money that a good part of their middle-market deployments run Windows NT or 2000. I'd also be willing to bet that PeopleSoft makes a LOT of money off of the Windows platform.
Publicly demonstrating your support for Linux is an incredibly smart move, if a belated one for PeopleSoft. I'm sure it was possible to do so without engaging in all-too-trendy Microsoft bashing.
Mr. Conway, please leave that kind of thing for Scott McNealy.
