Phil's Blogservations

Lots Of New Stuff Published:
Okay, gang... There's a lot to get through here. The reason for the paucity of updates to Blogservations is simply because I've been really busy with writing.
First, I've just finished a whitepaper called "Using RSS In Corporate Communications." You can download the PDF from the G2B Group web site. Background research features contributions from InfoWorld's Jon Udell and Cape Clear's press room, which presumably owes to the expertise of fellow blogger Tom Murphy.
Second, the March 2003 issue of Tapeout has been posted and has gone out to subscribers.
Finally, I've uploaded links to some case studies that I gave during my March 10 lecture at SFSU.

Identifying Leadership Through Email Analysis:
In this whitepaper from HP Labs, computer scientists were able to determine corporate structure and leadership solely based on the analysis of email headers. This, of course, leads one to believe that you can divine the real leaders in an organization, not just the titular ones. A fascinating read.

Rumor: Tom Siebel To Run For Montana Governor:
I wonder what the Siebel Systems shareholders thought of this news.
Yet another big-eared business leader making a dash for public office a la Ross Perot?
Say it ain't so.

PowerPoint Beat Poetry:
I recently received this from a friend and I found it incredibly entertaining. In PR, we see far too much PowerPoint. One person told me that PowerPoint, like the handgun, is one of the most abused pieces of technology.
PowerPoint is addictive for we modifiers.....I've been up all night, just me and PowerPoint, fuschia streaking horizontally, kelly green background fading to the left, yellow highlights around the arial... I barely survived my encounter with PowerPoint... Cerulean blue mocking me, bullets flying out of the screen. It's a miracle that I am able to walk today.
