Cringely: If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce would today cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside. Note that this could be the Cringely from PBS, or the person currently using that pseudonym at InfoWorld, where PBS' Cringely — neé Mark Stephens — originally acquired the name. Here are links to both the original, now-with-PBS Cringely, and the current "Cringely" at InfoWorld. The former, incidentally, comes up higher on a Google search.
