Dear Friend-Collectors -- Not Interested

99

That's the number of pending new-follower requests that I currently have in my Twitter account. Fair enough, since I've locked down my Twitter posts. On a certain level, then, I've asked for it.

But I've never met or corresponded with any of you. Ever. Who are you? We may or may not know people in common, but I don't know you.

Please introduce yourself. Send an email. Who are you? What do you do? Where do you blog or otherwise publish to the Web? Why do you do it?

'Cause, you see... From my perspective, it kind of looks like your idea of self-esteem or influence is somehow in proportion to the number of people who follow you.

Just seems to me that, if you were at all genuinely interested in what I have to say, you'd have initiated correspondence with me somewhere else before you discovered Twitter.

I'm just not interested in becoming part of your digital zooification project.

If this isn't your intent, then please introduce yourself.

Thanks.

Bye.
